I bought this treadmill on-line. The instructions were easy to follow for assembly. The workouts are great with the incline of up to 40% grade and decline to a a -6%. The IPOD attachment works great and, I was impressed with the speaker system sound quality. I do not have the IFIT attachment yet, but am going to purchase it to use the google map feature to create my own running workouts. Overall seems to be a durable commercial grade treadmill that I am am hoping will last for many years to come.

Best Fitness BFT50 Walking Treadmill Review

Best Fitness BFT50 Walking Treadmill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I took a chance by purchasing the BFT50 Walking treadmill without any reviews or feedback from customers. I had specific requirements because I use it both for a walking desk and for exercise. In fact, I am walking as I type this review. I wanted a treadmill that could adjust speed in .1 miles per hour. I also wasn't interested in running anymore thanks to age and bum knees. It doesn't have fancy programs, but provides large displays for pulse, calories, distance and time.
It was easy to assemble after getting it out of the box. I had one casualty during assembly. I dropped the control panel on to carpet and the corner shattered. It was in the back and can't be seen. The plastic seems heavy enough. I guess it just hit right. It didn't affect the machine.
I use it with a treadmill desk (Trekdesk) I purchased. It works very well so far. I've been using it for about a week now. The track width and length is a good compromise for walking and using it as part of a walking desk without taking up more space than needed. I can't speak for durability, but it does everything promised.

Best Fitness introduces the new BFT50 Walking Treadmill. The BFT50 is ideally suited for both senior and rehab markets. Featuring full length thick hand rails for both safety and support, a high torque 1.25 HP motor, and a max user weight of 310 lbs. Any user will find the BFT50 easy to access with its belt wide rear entry ramp and 17.75" x 51" orthopedic walking belt. The high torque motor has been tuned to meet the needs of today's seniors and is capable of moving a load from 0.1 mph to 5 mph in 0.1 mph increments. While most other 'walking' treadmills feature 1/4 to 1/2 length hand rails, the BFT50 goes the extra mile with full length hand rails. Each rail is fully padded and is a full 2 inches thick thus adding an extra level of comfort. Another limiting factor for most treadmills in this market is the size of the LED Display. Again Best Fitness has answered the call with 3 Jumbo 1-3/4" big blue LED displays devoted to Time / Distance, Speed, and Heart Rate / Calories. All interface buttons are oversized and easy to use. At a time when the prevailing thought in treadmill design is more is better, Best Fitness has truly listened to its customers and taken out the confusion and waste of too many frills and needless programs, and come up with a simple yet functional treadmill that simply gets the job done.

About Treadmills Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.
From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.
While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

I was a little apprehensive in the beginning about attempting to install this belt myself. My treadmill is at least ten years old and figured that the worse outcome would be that I wasted my money purchasing a belt I could not install. As it turns out, the installation was pretty straight forward. I consider myself somewhat handy and can turn a wrench and screwdriver. I had the belt installed the unit reassembled in about an hour using basic hand tools. I've been running on my new belt for about 3 months now. I'm feeling good about the purchase.

Confidence Power Plus Motorized Electric Treadmill Review

Confidence Power Plus Motorized Electric Treadmill
Average Reviews:

The product was ordered for my circumstance based upon space saving qualities.
Upon ordering, the product arrived w/in the week. The package was easy for me to manuever by myself, 57lbs in box-53 lbs out of box. It is around 4 feet tall and 4 feet long.
Assembly was SUPER easy. The treadmill was practically put together in the box. I had to insert a screw here and a knob there but no problems and it was assembled in a matter of minutes.
The treadmill's controls are very basic. No levels/intervals or incline adjustments. You have speed, calories, time, and distance icons on a central interface.
When actually using the treadmill, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it runs. Compared to other treadmills I have owned, the speed on this one seems a little slower i.e. going 3.5 seems faster on other treadmills as compared to this one. To compensate for that all you have to do is speed it up. I have used it up to speeds of 4.7 for speed walking purposes and it runs great.
Here comes the wonderful part, when I am finished, I pick up the walking portion of the treadmill and snap a knob---instantly compacting the treadmill and getting it out of the way. It does have rollers to roll it around if needed.

All in all, it is a nice basic treadmill that I would recommend to those of us who have limited space.

Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill Review

Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After using this for a couple of months, I'm raising my rating to 5 stars. This is one of the best purchases I've made, the only exercise machine that I look forward to using. You don't need all of the extra programs, bells and whistle to get your heart pumping and your sweat glands pouring. This device easily fits in our kitchen, opposite a countertop TV and JBL iPod speaker (much better than the built-in one with this or any other treadmill), and I've come to feel unready for the day ahead until doing my 30 minutes on the single automatic program. I've progressed from being able to walk at 3.5 mph to 4.5 mph and am feeling the overall aerobic benefits more each day. Now if I only had as much motivation to use Total Gym and all of the other neglected gadgets I've collected!
A treadmill (providing it has a motor) is the best exercise device you can own, and this one is certainly the "right" product if you've become discouraged after reading reviewers' stories of requiring 3 or more assistants to move their new treadmills to the basement. Or if you were contemplating a budget model until reading horror stories about its assembly, this may again be the ticket. It's compact and it's pre-assembled.
I wouldn't go so far as to call it "portable." It's the biggest piece of exercise equipment I've ever owned, and it's sufficiently heavy to make folding and unfolding seem like a chore. (I'm afraid that if I had to fold it up every night and stash it vertically behind a door or slide it under a bed, it would see too little use to be worth the investment.) Otherwise, it works just fine as a "walking" treadmill (runners would probably be better advised to look for a machine with a wider and longer belt). I'm no expert, but the belt seems smooth and quiet, the foundation solid, and the read-out and controls clear and user-friendly. The belt isn't quite as "cushioned" as those of more expensive machines, there isn't any fan for cooling down the walker, and the two speakers for an iPod or stereo MP3 player are, imo, simply too lame to be useful.
The actual "negatives" are few: 1. I wish the electrical connection was at the rear instead of the front of the machine and/or that the cord would be long enough (a couple more feet would do it) to reach the electrical outlet on the wall behind me (the instructions say don't plug the machine into a power strip, yet the length of the cord doesn't leave you much choice). 2. The otherwise helpful and clearly written instructions make no reference whatsoever to operation of the built-in stereo speakers, which may be understandable: the audio quality might be compared with a pair of cheap AM radio speakers. 3. Rather than waste the space, better there be an additional program, besides Manual and a single 30-minute automatic one.
Regarding a couple of other complaints: It's true that, once the machine has completed it program, you can't read your "progress" on the read-out, but if you simply press stop just prior to the end of the program, get off the machine for the last 10 seconds to jot down the reading, then press start again, voila--all of the settings are preserved). As for the heart rate monitor, unlike other users I've found it "somewhat" effective providing I remove my thumb from it every now and then. My problem is trying to determine what the heart rate numbers actually "mean" (the instructions provide an explanation that's ultimately unhelpful--remember, those no way the user can "input" the statistics--like age and weight--that are essential to computing useful heart rate numbers). So best pick up a separate monitor (the treadmill's read-out was consistently 70-80, so I was shocked when, after purchasing the inexpensive Omron monitor, the number that came up was 145, just 5 beats short of my theoretical maximum!).
[Addendum (a cautionary): As mentioned, there is only one automatic program, which I didn't try until the 6th day. It's 30 minutes, with speeds varying from 2 mph to 4 mph (unlike Manual mode, it doesn't observe 10ths or even half-mile settings). I wasn't prepared for using the belt at 4 mph and it actually "body-slammed" me to the mat at this speed, which is probably the "break point" between extremely fast walking and jogging. Approximately a quarter of the auto work-out occurs at the higher speed (I have little use for "over-produced" treadmills, but it would be nice to have 2-3 more automatic programs, especially with circuit boards having become so miniaturized and inexpensive for manufacturers to install). Finally, you may wish to ignore the instructions advising you to do a stretching routine before using the treadmill. (I'm sure I would use the machine significantly less if I added that "psychological" barrier.) Warming up at 2 mph should be equally beneficial (just don't plan on drinking a cup of coffee while in motion--it's been tried.]
[Set-up: Not included in the manual but appended to the machine is a small ticket telling you to allow the machine to run for 60 minutes before first use. Take it seriously. If, like me, you missed it and find the belt too far to the right or left side, follow the instructions in the manual. Above all, be patient, or the belt will soon be too close to the other side. It requires 30 seconds or more for the effects of a quarter-turn adjustment by the user to be noticeable in the positioning/operation of the belt.]

Horizon Fitness T91 Treadmill Review

Horizon Fitness T91 Treadmill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought this treadmill in January and I've been putting off writing a review until I'd used it regularly for a long period of time. I have been using this since mid-January as a way to do a running program and so far I have been very pleased with the purchase. I also reviewed many treadmills before buying this one and thought the price was within range for decent quality. I have not been disappointed at all. Assembly was not bad and I actually put it together myself so it can be done with only one person though adding the dashboard section was tricky.
When it arrived the delivery man brought it up to my apartment. I have not dealt with any customer service so I can't speak to that. There was a small nick in the belt from the trip, but based on other customers' reviews I decided that it was small enough not to worry about.
The treadmill does everything I want it to. You adjust the incline by .5% and the speed adjusts by .1 mph so you can really run/walk to your perfect pace. The clock/calorie/distance monitor accurately measures in my experience and I've been very happy with the treadmill overall. My only small complaint would be its bulkiness. I had to move it from the living room to my bedroom before I had people over and that was quite a chore. It also folds up but is not/not compact at all. I don't think I fully realized that when I bought it, probably because I was researching so many at the time that had similar specs. Also, I wish I could turn off the clock/calorie/distance monitor sometimes so I'm not watching it all the time.
But definitely satisfied and happy my $600 didn't go to waste. I'm running up to 3 miles now and I'm absolutely pleased with the purchase. :)

ProForm 400 GL Treadmill Review

ProForm 400 GL Treadmill

I bought a treadmill from proform and a month later it broke down. I sent them an e-mail and told them about it. They keep telling me to try this and to try that and one day the E-mails stopped. I called them and said non of this is working could you send somebody out. They said sure for $140. I said no this is covered in the warranty. Turns out since I never actually "asked" them to come out and fix it that it was not included in the warranty and since the 90 days was up they were no longer obligated to fix it. A dirty little trick since I complained of the malfunction while the warranty was still active. Turns out that the e-mails stopped right at the 90 day mark when the warranty expired.
I paid the $140 to have somebody come out. The money was withdrawn from my account withing minutes of the phone call. However, a technician was not sent out until 8 weeks later after I called them several times. One time they tried to charge me again for the repair call. To fix the machine would have cost me more than I paid so it ended up going to salvation army. Even the technician said that proform was a shady company. Not only do they pull this type of thing all the time but they lie about the treadmills. This treadmill advertised that it could handle people up to 250 pounds, yet the repair man told me he would not suggest that any one over 160 pounds use it.
Proform is a terrible company who makes a terrible product and I will never do business with them again. Don't waste you time or your money on this piece of garbage. I cannot stress enough that you should stay clear from these scam artists.

I recently purchased this treadmill and have been trying to attach the base to the frame without lifting it several inches off the floor. It crashes to the floor each time I step on it. The instructions do not specify that you have to lift the base. I have been placed on hold forever trying to get in touch with tech support. If I don't figure this out, it will be returned.

After WAY too much research for a treadmill that would best suit our lifestyle and what we hoped to accomplish, we decided to purchase the LifeSpan TR100 treadmill. We have been meaning to get back into a cardio regimen to support a healthier lifestyle and aimed to get something simple. We are not marathon runners, nor are we training for any type of athletic competition. We are starved for time and have become a little to sedentary, and we both came to the conclusion that we should keep up with a good walking routine for our health. We did not need all the bells and whistles that other treadmills come equipped with. This machine has everything we need and nothing we do not. It counts your calories burned and continuous heart rate throughout. Plus, the console uses a bright blue screen, which is very easy to read and the program display is VERY nice to see how far along you are in your program.
There is virtually no assembly required. All we had to do was take it out of the packaging and unfold it, simple as that. The unit is about 30 inches wide, and only 11 inches in height when folded up. We set it up in our bedroom, so there is no excuse for skipping a workout in the morning or the evening. It is so space friendly. We keep it set up unless we have company or other things going on, so we simply fold it up and place it under our bed. The unit is heavier than we both expected, but the wheel mounted frame makes it easy to slide and assemble. While this unit is very quiet, largely due to the fact that we just speed walk on it, the stability of the machine was the biggest surprise as the console does not shake like other treadmills we tested at Sears. We are very happy with our purchase and it is serving us well.
J.F.

I would have to say I researched buying a treadmill for some time and came upon this one for many reasons. 1. it was in my price range. I also saved $87 dollars on the shipping. As for shipment , it came fast and was in mint condition. Setup, was easy. This machine is a sturdy piece of equipment. Doesn't feel cheap. I will say I wish it would fold up more vertical but with all the features it is more than satisfactory. If your looking for something durable and effective for your exercise needs this will surely be the purchase.

Many treadmills offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting cardiovascular benefits without requiring a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

I did my homework, and finally settled on this machine for this price range. The big box retailer had a sale, and this came with some added ifit perks to make it worth while.
1. Sturdy construction. You won't feel like this is going to snap. I know it can easily handle my frame which is 200+.
2. The controls are very easy, and I can navigate through on the run.... ok the jog.
3. The speakers are great. MP3 compatible is nice. It also has two nice holders on the main console, that you can throw everything in.
4. The belt is nice and wide. I can watch TV while I run, and not have to worry about minor drifting. It's also long, which helps with quicker strides. The belt is tractioned, so it's a bit on the louder side with your footfalls.
5. The motor and operation is somewhat loud. Not crazy, but not whisper quiet. My machine is downstairs, and when it's on, I can hear it everywhere except the upstairs bedrooms.
6. It has good shocks.
7. It folds up very nicely. It was pretty easy to assemble as well.
8. It's very customizable.
I recommend this machine.

Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill Review

Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this treadmill for about a month. Setting it up was fairly easy and only one of the pre-drilled holes was not aligned perfectly. It was off just a tad so I had to work the screw a little more to make it go in. The treadmill is the most basic model this company carries, but they are very well known for high quality.
Pros
-VERY quiet
-excellent, smooth walking experience
-light weight (about 100 lbs) compared to others
-solid, quality product
-4 preset programs
-incline
-foldable
-the front handles are ideal for placing a board across so I can surf the net (2 mph) or watch a dvd (3 mph) while I walk.
Cons
-probably best for walking instead of running.
-The on button is in the front of the unit, low, where the motor is. It's a pain to have to turn it off and on everytime I want to use my treadmill. When I leave the on switch "on" it beeps at me every 5 min. to remind you to turn it off. I have never tried to keep it off for a long period of time to see if it will go into sleep mode or somthing like that. So it has to be powered down every time you use it.
-incline is manual (you have to get of the treadmill to adjust it by hand)
-the mph is in .5 increments. I prefer to be able to go up .1 or .2 at a time.
-no hydraulics when folding it up. If you drop the platform while trying to fold it, watch out, it will come crashing down and can cause harm. This is one area they should not have cut back on. Too much liability. I keep the platform down at all times so it is not an issue. However this can be a serious issue for an older person or someone who has children.
Overall I am very pleased with the product. I had to give up some of the extras to afford a quality machine. You could spend the same amount of money for something with a lot of bells and whistles, but you might end up with a loud, clunky machine with a belt that always goes off center all the time. That is a description of my last machine.
Update: It has been almost a year and I am still very pleased with my treadmill. I have not had to adjust the belt, it is not making any weird sounds or losing parts. It is still as reliable as the first day I got it. I actually have run for short periods of time and it works well with that, but I'm small (5'0 woman, healthy weight) so it may shake, rattle and roll with a large 6'0 man.

ION 1807T-ME Treadmill with Built-in LCD TV Display Review

This is not a review on the specific treadmill. I am an owner of a bladez treadmill and I want to let people know that if your treadmill breaks down it is VERY hard to service. People don't carry parts for these treadmills b/c they are not well known. We had to order parts from BH North America - they charged us 123 dollars for 2 parts, and then when I called to find out where the parts were almost two weeks later they notified me one part was on back order. He could not tell me when I could expect the part - 'sometimes it takes one month sometimes six' was what I was told. There was NO apology for my wait, no response when I asked for a discount on my parts b/c of the wait, and most importantly no phone call to tell me that my part was back ordered (but they didn't forget to charge me!) I suggest looking at treadmills that are more popular...I wish I had.

Weslo Cadence 1015 Treadmill Walking Belt Review

Weslo Cadence 1015 Treadmill Walking Belt
Average Reviews:

The belt was the correct one for my treadmill. The instructions that came with the belt were very specific on each step. Without the level of detail in the instructions it would have been difficult to install the belt. Belt came with lubrication and screws to re-attach the side(foot) rails. Screws were to short to use. Brought new life to the treadmill. If you are having problems contact treadmill doctor for assistance. If your belt hesitate, use dry lube on the speed control.

Proform 380 CS Treadmill Review

Proform 380 CS Treadmill

(More customer reviews)
My apartment complex has a workout room with some really nice treadmills, but I always wanted a treadmill I could use in the privacy of my own home. I am incredibly cheap so I never wanted to spend too much money on a treadmill. I saw this treadmill for 400 bucks and decided to buy it on a whim. This treadmill had more than I expected.
* Speed up to 10 mph (more than I would probably ever use)
* 10% incline
* speakers so you can plug your iPod directly in
* heart rate monitor
* folds up so you can have more space
The real bonus is that the treadmill has something that helps cushion your joints built in. I have flat feet and tend to get sore in my hips and other joints after running on the fancy treadmill in my apartment complex's workout room. I do not have that soreness in my joints after running on this treadmill and especially do not have the soreness the next day. I did not even think this feature would make a difference. This treadmill made running much more comfortable for me. I feel good afterward instead of full of aches and pains and I am finding myself looking forward to my next workout.
