(More customer reviews)At 6'3 270lbs I've found that there are not a lot of consumer treadmills that I can use. The Smooth 9.45st seems to be a winner for me. With a maximum weight of 400lbs and 300lbs on it's fastest speed, the machine was designed to hold up. It does. I can run at 10mph without the belt slipping on me. Anyone with a little weight knows exactly what I'm talking about and how annoying it is.
The deck on this machine is LONG. At 6'3 I've got a long stride. No more running on top of the dashboard with the 9.45st. It feels weird running in the middle of the deck and still having plenty of room available so as not to slide off the back.
Some of the other features include the hydra deck. I'm not 100% sold on it, but I bought the treadmill to run on. The hand sensors (to increase and decrease the speed) are great. Simply hold your hands over the sensors in the arms and the speed will increase and decrease without touching the console. VERY COOL and useful feature. The computer programs are nice too but again I use mine to simply run using the HIIT style of aerobic activity (as advocated by Shawn and Bill Phillips.) The incline works very well too.
It's a little pricey but worth the money if you're a bigger person. When you factor in a lifetime warranty on the whole machine (belt, frame, motor, electronics, etc..) it helps make the 9.45st a smart investment!
