(More customer reviews)(For some reason, the product I already reviewed this ball on is no longer available, but since it's the same product, what I already said carries over here.)
I first started using the Aeromat medicine balls a few months ago when I saw them at the gym I go to. I'd only worked out with leather medicine balls before, and didn't like them because your hands tend to slide around during long sessions, and they were just too soft. Leather medicine balls also get worn out easily with regular use, and it's never fun buying a replacement every couple of months.
These beauties by Aeromat, are made out of a hard rubber, and are extremely durable. They have a great design too- the black area on the ball has a curved line design (some say it looks like scales on a fish), while the colored area has indented dots. Trust me when I say that you won't be losing your grip on one of these babies! And since they're made out of hard rubber, you can do more exercises than you could with a softer one, like doing push ups on the ball, giving your chest and arms a killer workout in the process. I'm 155 pounds, and can even stand on the lighter weight ones like the 8 pounder, and don't feel it giving in to my weight!
If you've never used a medicine ball before, I highly recommend this brand. But if you aren't able to see one of them at a store, the balls get bigger as you go up in weight. I have a 20 pound ball at home, and it's noticeably bigger than the 18 pound one at the gym, and that's just a 2 pound difference! Also know your limits, and don't order a ball that's too heavy for you. There's no shame in starting small and working your way up. When you start doing squats with the ball, each one might last a few seconds, but as you progress with your training, you'll get faster, and want to move on to the next weight. The progress you'll make with these things is amazing, and I'm grateful for having discovered this brand. I've noticed a big difference in my training over the last 3 months with my 20 pound ball, and plan on moving on up to 25 by the end of the year if all goes well.
You couldn't ask for a better medicine ball. Aeromat isn't kidding with their 'Like no other!' slogan on the ball- there's nothing like it! For people who haven't used one of these before, or are new to serious exercise, I recommend the 8 or 10 pound model, then go from there.
