About a Year later (exactly one day after Original labor warranty expired), the belt started to show severe cracks and chaffing (Which had started earlier I'm sure but were never noticed until I moved the treadmill and had a close look. I called Bowflex to get get tossed around only to be told belt is NOT covered and I will be charged plus labor.
I immediately hung up and called NEW (Extended warranty purchased through Amazon). They sent out a technician with the belt 2 days after claim was filed and voila. New belt.
About 5 months after new belt, the speed started being irregular, and was quite dangerous to use as it would suddenly speed up and slow down. The treadmill also threw out error codes and often shut down itself. I called NEW and they sent a technician. The technician came and wrote down the parts they needed.
Needless to say, technician has been unable to get parts from the manufacturer. Apparently, the speed sensors and motherboard and god knows what other electronic needed to be replaced. After about a month, Today, I got a check from NEW. They refunded me the full purchase price of the treadmill. THIS IS FROM NEW (Extended warranty), not from Bowflex. Bowflex doesn't give a hoot about it's customers.
I cannot stress the importance of extended warranty on products such as treadmills. No way I'm buying anything high $ with an extended warranty (N.E.W if offered)
