(More customer reviews)After extensive research on budget-priced treadmill, I opted for the ProForm 585 CS for $499.99 with free shipping and a 10% off coupon (which off-set the cost of an extended warranty, recommended by nearly every source I consulted). I am pleased with my purchase.
I use this treadmill to run a few days per week. When I purchased this item, I gave up my gym membership and so far have no regrets.
It is sturdy, has speakers for a music player, and 1-button speed and incline control. Very easy to use, and comfortable to run on. The motor seems to be more than adequate, and has so far stood up to multiple runners of varying weights and sizes.
Only cons are that it came damaged (not enough to return) and that it was cumbersome to assemble, but well worth it in the end.
HIGHLY recommended for a treadmill under $500. I took a gamble on this, not being able to try it in person, but it far surpasses the performance of similarly-priced treadmills I found at the big box stores, including other Icon/Nordictrack/ProForm products.
