(More customer reviews)After months of trying to decide if we should buy an exercise bike, we finally bit the bullet. We went right down to Dick's sporting goods and even though they didn't have one on display, they did have one int he back. We bought the Schwinn 240 due to it being one of the newest models. Some of the things we really liked better were minor, but made the difference to us. The number of different programs were higher than the other models. Being able to remember a user's information was also a huge positive from other models where every time a different user uses the equipment you have to reset all your information. The cup holder not being under the seat but on the console made more sense and having the basket to store magazines and things just seemed neater. It took about 1.5 hours to assemble. Hint: A couple of the parts were already on the bike which was confusing when comparing to the parts list. The model is nice looking, smaller than our elliptical and easy to move around with the wheels. I haven't had it long enough yet to know how it will hold up, but it's very sturdy, very quiet and seems like it will last for a long time.

(More customer reviews)I bought this elliptical 3 years ago for $4500, so I was amazed to learn today that it is only $2999 on Amazon. I have worked out on several machines and if your life is crazy like mine and you need maximum burn in the least amount of time, then this is it. My average calorie burn is 400 in 30 minutes at resistance level 11 and incline level 14, whereas on my Precor Treadmill, I only achieve half of that for about 210 calories. Gives excellent lower body and core muscle tone, and leaves your hands free to read an article, switch channels on the TV remote, drink a power shake, etc. The calories burned on the Precor 5.23 rival my weightlifting workouts that burn 1,000 calories per hour, and that's intense!!

Bell Fitness Mini Stepper with Flexbands Review

(More customer reviews)For the price this is a good product for a good low impact cardio and buttocks developer.
The key is to not pound on the steppers but to use it as a LOW IMPACT device. Just go with the flow of the equipment, don't hammer on it like your trying to break it. My only gripe is that the joints needed oiling so it wouldn't make squeeky noises. This product is very durable and I hold weights while I'm on it. Another high quality cost-efficient choice. However, if you weigh over 300 pounds you might want to consider something more durable. I compared this item to a $100.00 stepper and the quality, step resistance, and step height were exactly the same. only difference was the costly one included steady handles to keep yourself balanced instead of cables. ( see pictures )
Basically, all steppers are very similar in quality and resistance. Even the cheapest one should suffice, as long as you don't weigh over 300 pounds, then you might want the industrial strength stepper.

(More customer reviews)I searched for ever and came across the latest Consumer Report magazine and discovered the Lifecore Fitness CD-400 elliptical. I took the plunge and purchased this machine. The CD-400 is ultra compact and fits perfect in my space. This elliptical is built like a tank. It does not move around when I'm at full speed. There is not a up and down motion like most elliptical's. The center drive concept is to keep your body centered (read lifecore brochure). Other elliptical's move your body forward and it's harder on your knees. If your looking for high quality and compact look no further. I have purchased other items from Lifecore and their customer service is also awesome. They actually still answer the phone whern you call them. Wish other companies would take note

ProForm Strideselect 600 Elliptical Trainer Review

(More customer reviews)Picked up one of these and within 4 weeks the belt started slipping off the wheel from time to time. They promised a replacement part and told me it was OK to keep using it. A week later the bolt for the right pedal just snapped, rendering it useless until repaired. I called and they promised yet another replacement part. SIX WEEKS after the first break I still hadn't received any parts so I just purchased a replacement of a different brand. When I went to move the unit by tilting it up on the wheels for that purpose, the frame snapped! So the unit is 12 weeks old, seen 4 weeks of use and has broken 3 times! They offered to replace it but I already did that. I can't even find it in me to curse a friend by giving them this clunker. I told them to just keep the replacement. Stay Away!
On the positive side I loved the iFit feature when the machine was working. If you can find a decent machine that has this feature, check it out. Nordictrack also has iFit BTW. Still, iFit's pretty useless if the machine itself doesn't work so one star.

Exercise Equipment Floor Mat 3' x 6.5' Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this mat to put under a piece of exercise equipment, and it seemed to do fine. However as I re-positioned the equipment one part of it dragged across the mat. I immediately noticed that this dragging had scored a long tear in the mat, completely ripping through to the floor underneath. Admittedly the equipment is quite heavy, but it does strike me that the mat ripped awfully easily. So I would give the mat a good review - but advise caution in any situation where the mat might get torn.
